A tome about the hope of man \-  
A universal tome  
Everyone says there’s always a hopeful outcome  
A hope so naive  
It’d be better to just sit there in boredom  
Than to waste your life on hope  
An unyielding hope  
A hope that stays alive no matter the circumstance  
No matter the tricky turn  
There’s that unyielding hope

How naive a hope  
To not give up in the face of disparity  
Or in the folds of the most gruesome death  
Yet the hope remains unyielding-  
Not failing still  
Through hardship and war  
Through life and death
